| The hardest and
most stunning of all gemstones. It is a mineral that is formed when
carbon is put under immense heat and pressure deep within the earth. Once mined, diamonds are sent to
the cutter where their real inner beauty is revealed.
Schramm-Bacher
Jewelers & Gemologists uses only cutters with exceptional skills,
because cutting is the most important part of the 4Cs (cut, color,
clarity & carat weight).
The finer a diamond is cut and polished,
the more spectacular and brilliant it is. Less then 5% of all
diamonds cut will end up meeting the exact dimensions of ideal
proportioning, and even fewer will then have the perfect alignment
it takes to show the hearts & arrows effect. The combination of
these two skills produces the most stunning appearance a diamond can
have, a literal "fireball".
The color and clarity of a diamond are also
very important factors to consider. Most diamonds have a faint
amount of yellow or brown in their body color. The same is true of
the clarity. The grading for these two factors takes a tremendous
amount of skill. The closer a diamond gets to having no body color
(colorless, graded D, or flawless, graded F), the rarer it becomes,
and of course, the more valuable it is.
At Schramm-Bacher Jewelers & Gemologists, we will take the
time to look at each diamond with you to help make a decision on
what specific color and clarity ranges suites you best. My education, experience and
reputation for integrity are your assurance of finding the perfect
diamond at an excellent value. Come in and let me show you how easy it is to set her
heart on fire. |
