Moissanite is extremely durable and resistant to abrasion. It is the
second hardest gem known to man, diamond being the first. However,
Moissanite is 1/5 to 1/10 the cost of a diamond the same size. It is
more durable than rubies and sapphires. Moissanite's excellent
resistance to heat enables it to withstand a jeweler's torch in the
manufacturing process and permits greater innovation in design
setting techniques.
